What is CBG Oil?

More and more cannabinoid variants are cropping up, which may make it seem like it’s hard to keep updated with the developments in the industry. One of the more recent “up and coming” stars is cannabigerol oil

There has been a lot of hype surrounding it, with some even dubbing it as “the next big thing,” or at least following CBD. But what is it exactly?

Meet CBG

CBG, short for cannabigerol, is mainly considered to be a precursor to many other cannabinoids. What this means is that it is mostly thanks to CBG that we can enjoy not only its extract, but also CBD, CBC, and even THC.

That’s because CBG’s acidic form (CBG-A) forms into these other cannabinoids when heated. CBG, therefore, literally helps create other cannabinoids.

CBG Product

As a product, CBG oil is said to provide a host of benefits to those taking it. So far, it’s been found to be effective in reducing inflammation that may cause or exacerbate inflammatory bowel disease. It has also been found to help improve bladder dysfunctions.

Those suffering from under-nutrition or malnutrition on account of lack of appetite can also use CBG oil to stimulate their appetite. This is particularly good for those who may have conditions that need good nutrition to help improve their immunity and overall health, such as those suffering from cancer or HIV.

CBG has also grown great promise in the lab as a 2014 study on rats has found that the use of the product might be actually effective in reducing the growth of cancer cells.

Of course, there are plenty more benefits that can be attributed to CBG oil and its other forms of products. It’s best to check first with your doctor, though, before you use it, especially if you have other medications to take.
